GET "BACK IN ACTION"
Post-Surgical Therapy

We have successfully rehabilitated patients that have undergone a variety of surgical interventions including:

• Total Hip, Knee, Shoulder Replacement

• Neck Fusion

• Arthroscopic Surgical Repairs

• Rotator Cuff Repairs

• Subacromial Decompression

• Lumbar Laminectomy/Fusion/Discectomy

• Knee Meniscectomy

• ACL/PCL Reconstruction

• And more

We work closely with your surgeon/referring physician to ensure optimal recovery after your surgical procedure. We follow a number of post-surgical protocols and take the necessary steps to facilitate healing. We will be in constant communication with your surgeon/referring physician for guidance regarding any precautions and/or recommendations based on your particular procedure. We send them reports on a weekly basis so they can track your progress as well.

Recovery Times Will Vary

• Everyone responds differently to surgery. You may require a few visits or an extended care plan over several weeks depending upon multiple factors (the type of procedure, your health, level of physical fitness, etc.).

Is Therapy Painful?

• One of the primary objectives of therapy is pain relief. This is frequently accomplished with different hands-on techniques, modalities, stretching exercises, etc. In some cases however, physical therapy techniques can be painful. For example, recovering knee range of motion after a total knee replacement often is uncomfortable. It is important that you communicate the intensity, frequency, and duration of your pain to your therapist and we will adjust your program as indicated. Our goal is to keep you as pain-free as possible throughout the rehabilitation process by adapting to your particular needs and responses to treatment. Open communication is key in order to avoid unnecessary pain/soreness. Like we stated before, everyone recovers differently post-surgically, so by working together we are able to find the best program that helps you to reach your goals.
